These two pictures are of the shades of purple shawl that I finished crocheting yesterday,
this is going to be a present for my neighbour, as she fell in love with the one she ordered for her mum's Christmas Present.
Depending on how Declan is I might not be back today, but I will be back tomorrow at the latest with a little fun blog candy for you all.

A cake anyone? and a small request please

Whilst watching Most Haunted Live last night, I knitted this little mini swiss roll,
and today I have been crocheting some of the shawl that I am doing,
I don't think this little cake looks right, but then it was only a bit of fun, and something to keep my hands and brain occupied with.
I would like to ask if any of you lovely bloggers could possibly send my dad (who has cancer see older posts) a cheery/happy card to cheer him and my mum up. My dad used to be a postman and loves getting cards and letters and so does my mum.
If you can, please email me to ask for their address.
Thanks for popping by.

Been Keeping Myself Busy

Over the last couple of days, I have been keeping myself busy,
I have crocheted this ear flap hat (in Aran wool) for a lady in the cold part of USA,
it is two hats layered inside each other for extra thickness and warmth,
then thick ear flaps and braided straps.
I have also been knitting a Mr Greedy, which all I have to do is knit the arms now.
So should get a photo on here of that tomorrow.
While watching Most Haunted Live tonight and all week till Saturday evening, I have started to
crochet another shawl, so once that is done I will show a photo on here as well.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH to all of you who have supported me over the shock of my Dad being diagnosed with prostrate cancer, I am coping better now, He is at home and should lead a good life now, he is on tablets at the moment, and will be getting injections soon, they are not operating on him at the moment as they say he is to old, (80 in Feb, 2010) and he is going for a MRI scan in a couple of weeks.

Will be back card making soon as well.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments
they mean the world to me.

Simple Pop Up Card Tutorial ........

I have done this tutorial for Tek Tuesday over at The Character Cafe
don't forget to pop over there for their challenges as well.

The materials you will need for this tutorial are -
2 pieces of backing paper, 2 images, scissors, double sided tape, 1 card stock,
colour your images, the one I have used came from The Character Cafe
Cut a layer one piece of backing paper and one image for the front of the card.
and the second image how you would like it for the inside of the card.
Then cut the second sheet of backing paper to fit slightly smaller than the whole card,
then fold in half, (similar to adding a insert)

With it folded, and along the folded edge, draw a box like shown below,
this can be done anywhere and as wide or narrow as you want it for your image,
and also you can do more than one as long as you have the room.

Then cut just the straight sides only, from where the fold is,
Do not cut across the line at the top or the whole thing will fall out.

Then push it through so it shows up like the photo's above and below.

Put your double sided tape where you can see it on this photo,
and do this on both sides that will stick to the inside of the card,
making sure you have the flap pushed up on the inside.

stick one side at a time into your card, making the fold of the backing paper go into the fold of the card, (again just like adding a insert but sticking it all the way round one side at a time)
Then do same with the other side,

Then when opened you should have a little step showing like below,
which is where I use my tape to stick my image onto the side not the top of the step.

This is what the front looks like when finished,

And this is what the opened card looks like inside.
You can be elaborate or as plain as you like.

Hoped you liked this tutorial for a simple pop up card.
As I know several asked me how to do it when I showed some previous cards on earlier posts.
I am also entering this card into the following challenges -
Rosie Dee's - Carrot, Courgette and a Flower
Three Clovers - Nature
Creative Belli - Fall/Thanksgiving and a leaf
Thanks for looking,
Hope this has helped someone out there.
Back to my knitting now,

Here is another set of flowers that I have knitted,
this time it is one Broach (pin badge)(below) and one Hair Clip (above),
both are matching, in purple and white,
I have also done some sample squares for a lady to choose which colour scheme she wants for her crocheted hat, and will email them to her in a mo,
I am now of for a cuppa then to make my DT card for Kaboodles new challenge this week,
and a tutorial pop up card for Character Cafe this week as well.
I do so love being busy, after doing the card and tutorial, I will be back busy knitting again,
this time it will be a Mr Snow and a Mr Greedy.
So please keep popping back, even though I am not doing many cards for challenges at the moment, don't worry this will soon change,
Apologies for blog hopping so much lately either, but this takes up so much precious crafting time when I am busy, I do take a quick peek at most of my usual blogs,
and love all that I see.

Opinions required please ......

Here is another little thing that I have made, its a broach (pin badge)
of a lilac and white flower,
hand knitted, I am also going to do some in other colours and also as hair clips as well,
Just wondered what you all thought of it?

It is about 4" in width, and has a proper broach fastening on the back.

Back tomorrow, after nipping to the 'cheap shop' (localish craft store) for some wool
for a hat that a lady has ordered, as I have run out of the colours she wants.

Just got to put the tassels on the scarf as well and that is finished,

Crocheted Shawl in silvery lilac

Hello Everyone,
This shawl is what I have been crocheting the last couple of days, I started it late Monday evening, and it is in double knit wool, in lilac but has a silver thread through it,
The lady modelling it is the lady that ordered it for her mum for christmas,
she loves it and is now debating whether to give it to her or not,
so me being cheeky said to give that one to her mum and order another one from me, tehehehe.

I have been busy knitting and nearly finished a scarf as well, just need to know if the lady wants tassels or not, then I can finish it off and get it into post before they go on strike again.

Back laters with more craftyness, have a great day.
