What do you get a Mum who has everything?

A A4 certificate frame only 99p from the cheap shop lol,
then add a treasured photo with a printed frame and then pale pink card around it,
after doing that I added two gorgeous mini bouquets and pastel coloured gems around it,
as this would fit in with the colours of the room that I knew my mum would stand the frame.
It was her birthday sunday just gone and she cried when I gave her this, as the original photo was no bigger than 2" x 3" max, and of course very very old,

I am entering this altered picture frame into the challenges over at
Allsorts - Rags to Riches
and
Project Tuesday - Altered Picture Frame
Thanks for stopping by,
your comments mean the world to me,

Easter Treat Pocket Tutorial for the Character Cafe

Wow, where does time go, I can't believe its time for another Character Cafe Tuesday Tutorial,
This weeks tutorial is a little pocket for some Easter treats,

The materials you need for this are a square of paper, my square was 6".
(this can be any size all depends on how big you want your pocket)
and decorations to finish it of with, I chose Buddy again,

Fold your square in half diagonally like the photo below,
Then take one of the sides and fold to reach the other side,
I did from right to left first, like in the photo below,

I used a bone folder to get the folds nice and crisp,
then take the other point and bring across the one you have just folded,
this time was from left to right.

So it looks like the photo below,
and turn the front top down,

you will have this little shaped pocket that you can see in the picture below,
only one more step to go,

And that is to decorate it,
I used Buddy from Character Cafe, and filled with a creme egg.
you can use any filling you like.

Thanks for stopping by,
Hope this has helped someone,
If you do make one of these or anything that isnt card,
why not enter it in the Character Cafe Challenge,
it runs out on Thurs Evening.

Character Cafe Feature Friday Challenge ..........

Yay!!! Its Friday,
and this week it was my turn to set the challenge, so I chose to do anything but a card,
(Well, I have kept myself busy as its a month since I have given up smoking,)
Over at the Character Cafe this week, there is a fantastic prize of

Fairy Jocelyn and Hoppy Frog images as well as a $5.00 Gift Certificate for The Cafe Store,
a Winner's Blog Badge, and your blog featured in the Winner's Section of the Store.

I used A cheap clipboard from my local supermarket (2 for a pound) and altered it,
from this which is actually got glitter in it, so is nice and sparkly,

To the photo below by using a backing paper from my stash, and the gorgeous Buddy image
from Character Cafe, who also have a sale on all of their digi images.
I coloured Buddy with my sakura pens.
Looking forward to coming round and seeing your creations,
Please pop over to the Character Cafe and give the DT some love, as they have done some beautiful projects.
The photo's do not give of the sparkle of the glitter that is actually in the clipboard itself,
the weather was wet and miserable all day here yesterday when I took the photo's.

Simon Says - Easter or Spring and sparkle,
Flutterby Wednesday - Open theme, with a butterfly, fairy or angel

Today's Effort is ........

Yesterday afternoon and this morning I have been making 3 Easter cards,
for a lady I know to give to her family, she likes having photo's of her children on them as well,
Hence why the photo below does not show the egg totally open so the children are not shown on the internet.
The 3 cards are A4 in size, and all 3 are nearly the same apart from the colourings of the eggs,
The inside is the same (without) the egg but with personal verses on.
What I did was cut the egg with my shaped scissors and then added a brad so that it comes apart, and under the top part there are the children.

I am entering this into the following challenges -
C.R.A.F.T - Easter
Paperplay - Easter

Thanks for taking your time to pop by,

Easel Card Tutorial for the Character Cafe ....

Good Morning to all,

THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO LEFT ME GET WELL WISHES,
I ended up with a virus and a bowel infection,
I am on a new set of tablets now and feel a fair bit better,

Special thanks to Mrs Tiggywinkle, for taking me to get my new tablets yesterday morning xx

woke up before 6am this morning and had the urge to craft,
so here it is,

Today's tutorial is a nice easy one, how to make a easel card,
as from blog hopping I noticed a lot of people are still wary of doing these great cards,
they are nice and easy, and I hope this will help show the way.
The materials you need are a card blank of whatever shape and size you wish,
then another piece of card the same size and shape of the blank you start with.
I used a 6" x 4" card blank,
a piece of card 6" x 4"
Digi Image Buddy from the Character Cafe.
Backing paper and sentiments from my stash.
Take the front of the card blank and fold this into half and crease,
as above photo shows.
Then use double sided tape put it on the opening edge like and next to the crease like the photo below, as this is where the spare piece of card sticks to, I normally stick it after decorating it.

After decorating your spare piece of card, how you wish,
and also adding backing paper to the lower half of the card blank,
stick the decorated piece to the folded flap like the photo below.

The photo below shows the two sentiments I am using on the lower part of the easel card,
you need to raise these so I used 1mm foam pads,

Once you have stuck them the easel card will stay up as these stop it from falling flat,
as you can see in the photo below.

I watercoloured Buddy, who you can get from the Character Cafe Shop,
and used purple mirri board to back him after distressing around him with chalks.
The backing paper is green, with lots of green leaves, and orange flowers on it.
doesn't show up well as light was very poor at 6am this morning. lol.
I couldn't sleep, had the urge to craft.
The sentiments are die cut, and the image I used my large circle punch.
I am entering this card into the following challenges -
Simon Says - St Patricks Day/Greens (gone for the green)
Thanks for stopping by today,
Hugs

Basket Of Flowers ............ and a chat.

This card I made this morning, along with finishing 2 others which I can't show as they are for someone else's mum, This one is for my mum, it is 3d, and looks like a real basket,
It has been decoupaged with hand cut roses, and handle.
The Roses pull out to show the photo above, which includes a few peel offs,
I wrote on the back of this part on the lower half so it can't be seen when the roses are back in the basket.
I have had a wonderful day, my hubby took myself and 4 recycling bags of blankets and towels to our local RSPCA centre, and we did look for a dog, as he agreed that I can now have a dog, I want a smallish sized dog, that we can also then take away with us in the campervan on holidays.
but they didn't have any smallish dogs, apart from bull mastif's, boxer's, or large dogs like rotties, which I don't have anything against, but our house is not right for them, and my boys are fussy as well, lol,
Then we spent a couple of hours with my mum and dad,
gave her her cards and present, as (at the time) we thought we wouldn't get to see her tomorrow for mothers day as my middle son Hayden had a football match to play in,
But just got a phone call to say its cancelled due to many players on both teams being ill.

Below you can see the card again.
I am entering this 3d shaped card into the following challenges -
Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Celebrations (whats better than to celebrate your mum)
I am of to knit again now while watching Most Haunted Live,
Have a fantastic Mother's Day and weekend everyone.

Clean & Simple - Are You Feeling Crabby?

I saw this free digi image over at 2 cute rubber stamps,
and just had to have it, I am 'cancer' so tend to like crabs,
I made this clean and simple get well soon card this morning,
while hubby was out in the garden repairing his bike,
The card was cut out of a template that I have in my stash and folded into half to make the card,
the two backing papers are also from my stash I think they are mulberry paper, and they reminded me of sand and sea or sky colours to go with the crab.
Used whisper markers to colour the image in with, deliberately making it rough so it looks like see and sand.
I am entering this into the challenges over at -
2 Cute Rubber Stamps - Free Theme using this digi
The Treehouse - Clean & Simple
I am of to craft more now as hubby has gone to mother in laws to sort out her roof as it is leaking, no he is not fixing it they have someone coming round.
Back laters have a great day,

Digi Images on a candle Character Cafe Tutorial

Good Morning to you all,
Its time for another Character Cafe Tutorial by me, (lilacanglia)
This week I am going to show you how to digi image onto a candle,
the materials you will need are
candle,
Digi Image (I used Character Cafe's Dayzee)
Greaseproof Paper,
Tissue Paper,
pens/colours
PERMISSION FROM THE DIGI OWNERS TO COPY THE IMAGE

I printed of the Dayzee image the size to fit my candle,
then I traced it onto the tissue paper,
coloured it with my whisper pens.
Cut Dayzee out roughly with a edging to her like in the photo below.

You then place the image where you want it,

Wrap with greaseproof then put heat gun on to warm up a little,
before running the heat over the images edges,

Take of the greaseproof paper and see if the edges of your image have melted into the candle,
it is easier to do less time with your heat gun then do it again instead of melting the candle with to much heat the first time.

Here is my finished result.

Thanks for stopping by
Hope to see you back on Friday.
Hugs
Angie
