Tuesday Turoial for the Character Cafe

Yes its my (lilacanglia's) turn to do the Tuesday Tutorial over at The Character Cafe today,
so I chose something that might be handy with us all doing Christmas things.
I learnt this from the nice lady at my local craft shop.

It is a no glue required box, the materials you will need for this are -
2 sheets of paper, one is 11" x 11" for the base and the other is 11.5" x 11.5" this is the lid,
a bone folder would be helpful but not totally necessary, and Character Cafe digi images to decorate with. These measurements will make a 4" square box when finished.
The folds on both lid and bottom of the box are the same.
fold the piece of paper in half, then undo and fold in half the other way as well,
so you have a cross in the centre.
Then take one corner and fold so it meets the middle,
repeat this for all 4 corners.
Leave these folded in, then take one side and fold that to the middle like shown below.
and then the opposite side,
unfold these two, and repeat the same on the other two sides.

Unfold all, should look like the photo below.

then fold two side in like show in this photo below,

and after that fold the edges in and one of the triangles to look like picture below,
do this to the other end as well and your finished result should look like this box below.

Do exactly same for the lid, but remember the lid needs to be 11.5" x 11.5" so when folded it is slightly bigger hence why it is the lid.
I then coloured Pax The Penguin digi image from The Character Cafe 4 times in all for these two boxes, and stuck (this is the only time you need glue) on the lids and inside the bases of the boxes. I think these will make great gift boxes for all kinds of goodies for Christmas.

Please leave a link here and/or on The Character Cafe post, look forward to seeing your boxes.

x

You can also do different size as long as you start with a square and remember to add half a inch to the lid square.

x
I am also entering these boxes into the challenges over at -
The Colour Dare - Real Red, So Saffron, Soft Suede (the striped part of the boxes)
Stamp With Fun - Christmas

Thank you for stopping by,
have a happy day,
hugs

Untraditional Blue Sketch ..........

This card I made this afternoon following the sketch over at CREATIVE INSPIRATIONS,
and the theme of non traditional colour at Saturday Surprise, and Crafty Cardmakers,
The Blue also goes along with the Monochrome Blue challenge over at Fun With Shapes,
and I is for Indigo over at ABC Blog, and the monochrome challenge over at Whimsy Stamps.
I used a cute daisy may digi image, and colour it with sakura pens in non traditional christmas colours, the circle it is on is punched using my bug circle punch I have now got.
The backing papers are all from my stash, and the peel off greeting is coloured with blue metallic marker, i also used my corner punch on all the layers to make round corners.
I even distressed all around the cute snowman with pale blue chalk.
Thanks for looking, the close up shows the detail better.
Dont forget my blog candy at the top of my blog if its before the 4th Dec.

My GDT card for The Crafty Pad

This week there is a great challenge over at the Crafty Pad,
I was lucky enough to win a couple of weeks back and won this wonderful stamp and the chance to be Guest DT for this week.
The challenge is 'TRIANGLES'
So I made this step card (which if you look at it on the side is triangles) and I made the trees out of tringes of green and brown card, decorated with sakura pen for snow.
The Posting Ted stamp was embossed and then coloured using Sakura pens and water colour pencils.
The snow at the bottom of Ted and the trees are ripped pieces of white paper layered to make them look like a snow drift.

Don't forget to pop over to The Crafty Pad to see the other DT's wonderful work,
and take a look at the wonderful stamps and things they have for sale.

The Crafty Pad Sketch

Happy Friday everyone, Just sneaked in this lovely card for today, as rather busy,
my oldest son Kieran is going away for the weekend this evening on a Talented, Able and Gifted weekend, so I am getting everything ready for him to take.

This card I made following the sketch over at The Crafty Pad, where I was lucky enough to win a couple of weeks back, and won the lovely stamp of ted posting his letter, this time I have just used the ted and letter part and did not use the whole image of the post box as well.
He is coloured in with my Whisper pens, which I am not comfortable with yet, still prefer my water colour pencils.
I have used 3 papers - the patterned red and green, the red, and also the red holographic paper,
the image is stamped onto card stock, so that makes 2 card stocks with main card, and 1 embellishment of the little star gem in the bottom corner all for the challenge over at La La Land.

I think this would be a great card for Younger boys so also entering it into the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday.
Thank you for stopping by,
If I don't get back later today will be back with more crafty items tomorrow.
Have a great weekend everyone,
Hugs
